When I ventured out onto a golf course for the very first time, a well meaning friend patiently showed me the basics of putting….. the time honored conventional method used by golfers around the world for over 100 years.
Well, after about an hour of a chronic lack of success, I decided i urgently needed a putting lesson from a golf pro. Unfortuantly that didnt improve things (frankly the pro struggled just as much as i did) .
It became pretty obvious that if I really wanted to play this game ( which is all about getting the ball in hole) I’d better work out whether I was the problem (Am I seriously this uncoordinated .... will I ever be any good at this) OR….. Do I need to thoroughly examine this ancient method to see if IT was the real problem, and if so find a better way to putt.
Breaking it down, here's what I struggled with (sound familiar?)1. I could see which way the ball was going to break on a green.... but not by how far.2. Bending over in the putting stance with my head tilted to one side, I couldn’t tell if I was lined up on the putting line or not.3. I either pushed or pulled the putt off the putting line, because of the built in arc in the putting stroke.
4. I hit the ball either too far.. or not far enough.
The rest of the world may well be putting this way, but I soon decided this ancient method wasn’t for me. It was find a better way to putt or find another game.
Eventually I came up with a logic based system to get the ball in the hole.

(by rolling instead of hitting the ball)The subsequent success of the Pendulum Putting System strongly suggests to me that it wasn’t the lack of player talent that caused all the pain and frustration out on the putting greens of the world for the last 100 years… it was the illogical, ancient putting method that was the real villan all along.
Every single golfer - amatuer or pro, who has adapted this system over the last 5 years, has improved their putting significantly. They just needed a logical structure and the the right tool.
